The Complete SLIME CITY SURVIVOR
All 26 episodes of SLIME CITY SURVIVOR, Madeleine Koestner's video documentary of my upcoming film SLIME CITY MASSACRE, are now live on YouTube. The goal was to follow the production day-by-day, interviewing some of the key personnel. The interviews were conducted by Wil from Horror Yearbook. The last episode features an interview with Roy Frumkes, who plays "Ronald Crump," a villainous real estate tycoon who hires a team of mercenaries to wipe out the homeless population in Slime City. In his interview, Roy discusses STREET TRASH, which he wrote and produced, and STREET TRASH 3, currently in development, as well as SCM. The total running time for SLIME CITY SURVIVOR is 112 minutes, the equivalent of a feature length doc.

In other news, Phil Gallo has completed his first cut of the film, and since he is a tight editor, it's already a fine cut. Phil composed the score for the original MOTHER'S DAY, and directed and edited the crime drama WEST NEW YORK and the quirky indie fantasy MATTIE FRESNO AND THE HOLOFLUX UNIVERSE, so he understands horror, action and character, all important ingredients in SCM.

Composer (and Fear Zone contributor) Mars has been scoring the film as Phil has edited it, segment by segment, so we're ahead of schedule on that "score." Mars has done his best work to date on SCM - his soundtrack is very memorable. Also on the music front, Giasone and Marcy Italiano (GRUESOME) have completed "Slime," their opening theme song; Kinteticlik (part of a SLIME CITY rap subculture in Connecticut!) has delivered his rap song "The Massacre"; and Crankdaddy (featuring vocalist Tom Merrick, who starred as "Jerry" in the original SLIME and plays a mercenary in the sequel)just recorded "Slime City Massacre" for the closing credits.

Few artists out there are as talented as Stephen Romano, whose book SHOCK FESTIVAL blew me away. Stephen does a lot of DVD covers, especially for Synapse. I've commissioned 16 paintings from him for SCM's opening title sequence, and he's already delivered 10 of them. These highly striking images re-tell the story from the original film and set up motiffs that occur in the new one.

While Phil continues to fine tune his excellent edit, Mars strikes the right notes for the film's ending, and Stephen works his magic, R.J. Sevin and Arick Sczymecki are tackling the film's numerous CGI elements. We're on track to complete the film this year and will announce our premiere date in the near future.

1. Awesome, Greg. I absolutely can't wait for this to come out. Michelle and I plan on making it a top priority to get to a screening once you start showing it around (probably in LA).

4. Creatively, I had nothing to do with them, and I think they're really entertaining.
