Creeping Hemlock Press Unleashes New Chap Books on ZOMBIEFEST!
SURPRISE!

This weekend, Creeping Hemlock Press will debut two new zombie themed chapbooks featuring Kim Paffenroth, Gary Braunbeck, R.J. Sevin and Julia Sevin at the It's Alive Zombiefest in the Monroeville Mall, Pa, this weekend.

First up (because that's the one they sent me cover art for) is THIN THEM OUT, a collaboration between Kim Paffenroth (DYING TO LIVE) and the Sevins. Creeping Hemlock describes it thusly:

The dead.

The dead are getting up. Walking around. Acting... strangely. ...and killing.

But sometimes, in this terrifying new world, it's the living you have to worry about.

Kim Paffenroth, author of the Dying to Live series and the Bram Stoker Award-winning Gospel of the Living Dead, has collaborated with emerging authors R.J. and Julia Sevin to bring you a harrowing glimpse into a harsh world where the living are little more than ticking time bombs charged with paranoia and hostility, and the dead have begun to stage bizarre endeavors of their own.

(it's six bucks, limited to 250 copies, signed by all three of us.)

"The title is FLESH IS FLEETING... ART IS FOREVER!" says R.J. Sevin of Braunbeck's chapbook. "It's a grimly humorous and grotesque look at theater life after the dead rise."

Both books are limited to 250 copies. FLESH IS FLEETING... ART IS FOREVER! costs $5, and THIN THEM OUT costs $6 (it's just under 10,000 words long). Fear Zone editor Greg Lamberson was not invited to participate, even though R.J. Sevin will be writing a zombie column for us starting in December (if he makes his deadline). Any copies remaining will be available through Creeping Hemlock after the con.

1. One thing I forgot to tell you, Greg: THIN THEM OUT is a single story, not a short collection. Not quite a novella, but at 9500 words it's longer than your average short. Kim and I were discussing a collaboration before ZF was even on mt radar. When we decided to go, I asked if he had a short available. He did, but it was only 500 words long. He expanded it by 2000, and then Julia and I wove our own stories into it, with Kim's as the heart. It came out nicely.

2. That's what I said! (and I had to cut out one of my jokes to correct it)
