IT'S ALIVE--And It's Another Remake!
Back in 1974, expecting parents everywhere were terrified by Larry Cohen's IT'S ALIVE, which presented a mutant killer baby terrorizing L.A. It was followed by triplets in IT LIVES AGAIN (1978) and very silly looking adults in IT'S ALIVE III: ISLAND OF THE ALIVE (1987).

The original film is probably best remembered for its fantastic advertising campaign, which included this ROSEMARY'S BABY-like poster and this trailer. But it was the TV spot that really made this little bastard a monster hit.

Now comes the inevitable remake, co-written by Cohen and Paul Sopocy, directed by Josef Rusnak, and starring Bijou Phillips. This trailer shows what changes have been made to the story; Baby goes home and must look somewhat normal, and Mommy is even more of an apologist/accomplice for her murderous offspring than in the original.

Of course, the greatest "It's Alive" was way back in 1931.

1. "It's Alive" is one of the first modern horror films I remember wanting to see. I was only ten at the time and when we got there my mother saw what it was about and I never did see it until years later. It'll be interesting to see what they do with it. Ron
