Indie horror fans were saddened last year when John Polonia, one half of the Polonia Brothers production team, passed away unexpectedly. Together, the twins had been responsible for such low budget titles as SPLATTER FARM, FEEDERS and SPLATTER BEACH (and many, many more; I've posted John's complete credits at the end of this piece). The shows must go on: Mark Polonia and John's lifelong friend Matt Satterly will continue to make films as Cinegraphic Productions, an offshoot of Polonia Bros. Entertainment.

Even more exciting: Brett Piper, the man responsible for BITE ME!, SHOCK-O-RAMA, and BACTERIUM is teaming up with Polonia on a new feature, which Piper will direct. First there was MAN-THING, then there was SWAMP THING, soon there will be MUCKMAN! With literally dozens of film credits to his name, Piper became an independent operator again two years ago after completing the above mentioned films for POP Cinema, and the jack of all trades served as cinematographer on SPLATTER BEACH. In many ways, teaming up with Polonia seems like an ideal partnership: Piper is an extremely knowledgable and talented craftsman, while Polonia is an extremely prolific producer and director. In this economic environment, it is extremely difficult for indie filmmakers to raise financing. These guys love making movies, so this could be a match made in B-movie heaven.

Piper and Polonia collaborated on the screen story, with each filmmaker then writing his own draft of the screenplay. They've cast Anju McIntyre (formerly A.J. Khan, outstanding in SHOCK-O-RAMA) and Alison Whitney (BACTERIUM). The filmmaker has completed some initial sketches for the production, and is slogging away on the monster suit, but we thought you'd enjoy seeing McIntyre first. The film goes into production this June, and Fear Zone plans to follow its progress extensively.
