FORCED ENTRY (1973)
Thought you've seen it all? Well, this is one for you sickos (sickos like me, yeah). This is hardcore, people. This $6200 feature directed with grim style by Shaun Costello in 1973 precedes TAXI DRIVER in showing the ugly side of New York City. A demented Vietnam vet (pornstar Harry Rheems sans moustache) spends his time chasing girls and raping them at gun (or knife) point.
Get ready for a mix of porn, horror and--social commentary (OK, Greg, maybe I went too far, but there's some of that in there) that is truly one of a kind. You put it in your DVD player and are automatically transported to the 70's era Grindhouse times, where stuff like this was actually shown in ... (more…)

THE HORROR VAULT, which has been in the works for now well over two years will be released on April 24. It will be available from the website www.thehorrorvault.net and will be shipped from the US.
The film is an anthology and consists of nine small stories, inspired by CREEPSHOW, TALES FROM THE CRYPT and of course , MASTERS OF HORROR.
THE HORROR VAULT consists of nine short grueling stories about the cruely and insanity of mankind. Hopefully you will enjoy, find the dark humor amusing and hopefully make you wonder.
"When John Met Julia" is a modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, except everything goes a bit wrong...for poor John anyway. Written and directed by Kim S?nderholm, starring ... (more…)

Tuesday. Terrors. NOW!
Brian the Bad Movie Guy takes you on a terrifying podcast journey through the world of horror DVDs and even manages to work in a dig at Hillary Clinton on this, the day of the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary.
If you happen to live in PA--where Herschell Gorodn Lewis, George A. Romero, and the Eerie Horror Film Festival all entered the horror fray--get out and vote for the candidate of your choice!

"Once upon a time there were three little girls who went to the police academy. Two were in Los Angeles, the other in San Francisco. And they were each assigned very hazardous duties. But I took them away from all that and now they work for me. My name is Charlie."
OOPS! Sorry, wrong show. This isn't CHARLIE'S ANGELS, it's TUESDAY TERRORS!, Fear Zone's own weekly DVD preview podcast show featuring spooky music by the man called MARS, clever sound clips from the newest horror DVD releases, and non-stop shtick by Brian the Bad Movie Guy! (more…)

Tempe Video is proud to introduce the first collaboration between executive producer J.R. Bookwalter (THE DEAD NEXT DOOR) and the directing team of The Campbell Brothers (THE RED SKULLS) with POISON SWEETHEARTS, a throwback to the '60s style of grindhouse cinema. The first in a new series of Tempe originals lensed in HD!
On the depraved streets of Cleveland, young women are dealt hard lives. Trudging through days of filth, poverty and crime, they do what they can to survive. Women backed against a wall -- mistreated and abused -- now, see them strike back with horrifying vengeance! A beautiful dame forced to sell her body for her pimp. Bad poetry? Perhaps--but it's got to be better than the DAY OF THE DEAD remake, now shambling around on DVD! See what Brian the Bad Movie Guy has to say about this and other digital offerings in his weekly podcast. Where else can you hear about films starring Billy Zane and Tiny Tim?
BLACK CANDLE... NAKED DREAM... EVIL EYE... BLOOD HARVEST... ALIEN AGENT... THE RED CELL... THE CELLAR DOOR... DAY OF THE DEAD... SOMETHING I CAN'T MAKE OUT... CRUEL WORLD...

DIE AND LET LIVE (2006 dir Justin Channell)
Heretic Films DVD
EDITOR'S NOTE: Justin Channell directed his first feature, the vampire comedy RAISING THE STAKES, when he was 16 years old. He directed his second film, DIE AND LET LIVE, the summer before he started college--and it was picked up for distribution by Heretic Films. I was so impressed by the film that I interviewed Justin for my upcoming book, CHEAP SCARES! Low Budget Horror Filmmakers Share Their Secrets. He and his collaborators have real chemistry.
IWC Films, the boys responsible for the low budget horror comedy RAISING THE STAKES, bring us this horror spoof about a teen's plans to impress a girl that backfire on him in ways ... (more…)

Yes, it's the day after Monday and the day before Wednesday, which means only one thing-- TUESDAY TERRORS!
Brian the Bad Movie Guy features a slew of Brain Damage Films product, but since they never send us DVD screeners, I don't really care!
A giant squid?!? In Dawson's Creek?!?
Check out the cool new theme music at the head and tail of the podcast, courtesy of that madman musician and resident audio critic, the Man Called MARS!
April Fool's Day reminds me of one thing: not the movie, but of Howard Vaughn, an old classmate at Fredonia High School. He was born This Day, which the principal and the local radio announcer insisted on publicly broadcasting, hich resulted in Howie being tormented ... (more…)

In 10 years of hosting and coordinating both the Saints & Sinners Film Festival and the Halloween Horror Picture Show, I've had the joy of viewing works from many Independent Filmmakers the world over. And I have to say that one of my absolute favorites has been Christopher Alan Broadstone. All three of his short films--MY SKIN, SCREAM FOR ME, and HUMAN NO MORE--have been featured at one or more of my festivals. Each film has received rave reviews from the audience. Now in this wonderful package you can own them all and so much more.

Remember when Anchor Bay was the coolest DVD label around, and we'd all anxiously look forward to their latest release announcements? A lot of that luster has vanished in recent years as the company re-packaged and released their best sellers over... and over. and over. How many different editions can one person possibly need of THE EVIL DEAD? The degree of double dipping has been maddening.
But feast your eyes on the packaging for their latest edition of THE WICKER MAN (the great Edward Woodward/Christopher Lee/Britt Ekland classic, not the Nicholas Cage shite). The new CULT CLASSICS FILM SERIES is the coolest thing to come along in a long time, and these are the first DVDs I've ... (more…)
