Jonathan Maberry, whose novel Bad Moon Rising is now in bookstores, sent along word that his next book, ZOMBIE CSU: The Forensics of the Living Dead, "will be released by Citadel Press (a division of Kensington Publishing) in August. I interviewed a total of 250 experts in forensics, law enforcement, medicine, science, the military, the legal profession, journalism, and pop culture for the book. It's a hell of a lot of fun."
Pictured is the bloody good cover and below is the skinny:
When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth....
And law enforcement is ready to take them down!
What if zombies were real? What would happen if, tomorrow, corpses across the nation began ... (more…)

The other day I overheard someone saying that they thought the world was a much more violent place than ever before in the history of the human race. This made me pause. My gut reaction was to agree, but then, I began to wonder: is this really true? Is the world more violent? Is the human race more vicious than previous centuries? We have tried to place labels on certain individuals who have caught our attention such as Elizabeth ... (more…)

Fear Zone contributing writer Gabrielle Faust's first novel, Eternal Vigilance, is now available for pre-order from Immanion Press. Eternal Vigilance is the first installment in a post apocalyptic vampire trilogy. Look for a Fear Zone interview with Gabrielle soon.
Eternal Vigilance
Book One: From Deep Within the Earth
"Eternal Vigilance is the main artery leading to the heart of all vampire stories. Not since Interview With a Vampire has there been a greater tale of the undead. My mouth became dry reading it. My pulse quickened. This book makes you thirsty for bloodlust. Gabrielle Faust is the queen of vampire fiction."

Broken Angel is the first book by Brian Knight I've had the chance to read, although I always see his name on the lists of 'new writers to watch for.' So I was curious to see what kind of path this book would take me down. Would it be scary? Bone chilling? Creepy? Slow and gothic or fast and furious?
